Margaret Isaac

Toowoomba local Margaret Isaac is a talented muralist and glass artist whose work adds vibrancy and character to the city’s streetscape. Her striking mural “Ulysses” — a portrait of author James Joyce — adorns the Irish Club Hotel on the corner of Russell and Station Streets and is a standout feature on Toowoomba’s public art journey.

Margaret’s creativity doesn’t stop at walls — her intricate window glass paintings can be spotted across the city at Base Services’ Second Shot Café, Antara Studios, Cork and Lever, and Indie Hair Co, where her designs bring colour and warmth to local businesses.

Recently, her art reached new heights when one of her original pieces was featured on Pechey Distilling Co.’s gin bottle, aptly titled “The Artist”.

Whether on glass, canvas, or brick, Margaret’s work captures the spirit of Toowoomba — creative, welcoming, and full of life.

Margaret’s Art on our public Art Journey

To celebrate the centenary of James Joyce’s novel Ulysses, Margaret Isaac created a vibrant mural on the Irish Club Hotel in Toowoomba. The Darling Downs Irish Club commissioned the artwork as a gift to the city, honoring Joyce’s literary legacy and marking the 100th anniversary of the novel’s release with a public tribute
