Bronte Naylor A.K.A Noke

Born in 1993, Bronte Naylor is a contemporary visual artist from Toowoomba, Queensland, whose work spans exhibitions, large-scale murals, installations, and community collaborations. Known professionally as Noke, Bronte’s creative practice explores the intersection between the natural world and built environments—dissolving the boundaries between the two through a distinctive collage aesthetic that merges photography, digital illustration, and traditional painting.

A graduate of the University of Southern Queensland, where she completed a Bachelor of Creative Arts (Honours) with First Class Honours, Bronte has emerged as a dynamic voice in Australia’s public art scene. Her work has been featured in major international projects, including St+ART India, Sea Walls: Artists for Oceans, First Coat International Art Festival, and the Big Picture Festival, positioning her among the new generation of artists redefining public spaces across the globe.

Rooted deeply in place and memory, Bronte’s art often reflects her belief that “a picture can literally paint a thousand words.” Her large-scale murals—such as her celebrated depiction of the Fairholme Homestead surrounded by towering Bunya Pines—capture the living stories embedded in landscapes, architecture, and community heritage.

Guided by persistence, curiosity, and respect for the environments she works within, Bronte approaches every project in three stages: research and photography, conceptual design, and the physical act of painting in public. Through this process, she invites viewers to see familiar spaces anew—to recognise how the organic and the man-made, the inside and outside, continually shape one another.

BRONTE’s Art on our public Art Journey

Toowoomba artist Bronte Naylor has made an incredible mark on our city’s creative landscape, with four stunning artworks featured across our public art journeys. Her vibrant pieces — depicting graceful birds, a striking horse, a powerful portrait of a woman, and the unforgettable two giant hands reaching skyward near the Toowoomba City Library — each tell a story of connection, strength, and community. We are so proud that these remarkable works were created by a talented local artist whose creativity continues to inspire and uplift the Toowoomba region.
